    Other Netherland Cities/Towns...

I am going to AMS at the end of this year and was wondering what other cool towns are good to visit in the netherlands, that also happen to have the best weed. I heard smaller towns have better herb than Amsterdam. Is that true? Thanks in advance!

I have been to many towns outside A'dam.
Haarlem is close, and has some nice coffeshops.
Delft is beautiful, and has good shops too.
If you want to see the beach, try Scheveningen, or Zandvoort Aan Zee. Both have some nice shops, and are easy to get to by train and tram.
Den Haag is a bigger city, but still has some nice shops with cheaper weed, and a lot of things to see.
Leiden is nice, but most of the shops aren't open during the day.
One of my favorites is Nijmegen. It's a college town with great atmosphere, friendly people, and some of the best shops in the Netherlands.
Also, Tilburg is a surprisingly nice place. It's a small industrial city, where the locals know how to party. Nice big shops with good weed and cheap prices.
Rotterdam is not a small place, but there are lots of shops, and the competition keeps the prices low. If you don't mind the 'big city' atmosphere, R'dam is very cool.
Utrecht is great too, and only a short train ride from A'dam. It's another college town/small city. A lot of people commute to Amsterdam from here.
There are so many more, that I just don't have time to post about them all.

On the following site you can find lots of coffeeshops in Holland sorted by province and city. Not all coffeeshops are listed. But this can give you a good idea:

I second Nijmegen, best people in the whole of Europe, and a great nightlife. Check out Merleyn, Doornroosje or Triainon for a groovy night out and a very friendly atmospehere. If you want a smoke and a beer I reccomend also the Bijstand.

The only other city I visited in Holland, besides Amsterdam, was Utrecht, which was a very pleasant town. There is a Utrecht Avenue in Brooklyn, NY, named for that city. Brooklyn itself was originally named Breukelen (and other spellings), in the 1600's, after the city in Holland. The name gradually changed after the British took over. Many Brooklyn streets, institutions, and some businesses still have Dutch names, though.

Maastricht is awesome and easily managed... it's a beautiful city and everyone is so friendly. It has a different feel than the other cities as it is so close to belgium.

have only been to rotterdam, amsterdam and maastricht though

For cannabis I've only been to Maastricht and Geleen. Maastricht is really nice, everyone is friendly like you mentioned. You get a good advice when you go to smartshops. And there are lots of shops. You can get everything in that city.
Geleen is 1 hour drive for me so that's easy. There are only 2 shops, but the prices are very low.
