    help! sick plants

Ok these clones are about 2 months old and were just transplanted into 2 gallon pots. before transplant they were a nice deep green with lil or none red petioles. since the transplant they have yellowed and the petioles are a deep red in color, not to mention that it now has rust spots on the leaves. the soil is miracle grow since i had some around the house. i dont have a PH meter so i cant check soil PH and i dont have nutes so ill be getting those ASAP. i think its a nitrogen lockout/deficiency, but would like some other opinions on diagnosis.

this might be my last soil grow for a lil while so would it be ok to use GH 3 part in my soil grow?

    P.S.
i read the faqs, stickies, and grow logs already. im mainly looking for a second opinion on problems or an new diagnosis. thanks in advance.

Your problem is the miracle grow. Not good to use it. I'd flush the plant really alot and see if that helps. how long ago did you transplant it?

ok just got a crappy ph probe meter for now( digi PH on the way) and my soil is reading around 7.5ish and my runoff is around 7. since i have no nutes or ph up/down i just used a lil vinegar in a 5 gallon bucket to get my water ph around 5.5-6 and im using that to flush. should i be doing that? what ph should my water be at to flush my soil?

I think your over dooing it. Miricle Grow is meant to be simple.

just use plain Tap water with MG. Don't add vinigar. If anything from what I rember of ZANDOrs MG grow Log (you can search it) you actully wanted your water Higher for MG like around 8ph going into your soil.

Ph in the 5's is far too low for MG or any soil pretty much.

Just keep it simple use reg tap water with your nutes. The fact that your Ph is around 7 on the way out is pretty good I always thought.

I have seen little spots like that on my plants as well. However mine were from thrip Larva.

Good Luck... Don't over doo it.

yay plants are looking better today. the spotting has dried up and yellowing is slowly getting greener. leaves are nice and perky as compared to yesterday.

i really didnt want to use vinegar but i have no idea where to get "real" PH up/down here. we only have 1 hydro shop on the island and garden shops usually dont have them here.

from now on they only get fed tap water and maybe some molasses later on

    thanks KD

Vinegar is fine to drop pH, just make sure you test the final pH before using

cool thanks for the ok on vinegar. ill probably flush them again in a couple days depending on their growth, color and soil PH. currently soil PH is at a high 7 almost 8 when i flush them what PH should my water be at to lower my soil PH? should i use a low 6 PH for flushing?
