What method do you use for watering?
Hey,
I've read about hefting the pot and measuring 4-5cm dry soil before watering, but what method do you use/recommend for knowing when to water?
Hoping to find some proper moisture measurer, but how about other methods?

I also use the pot lift method. However, a better way is to use a moisture meter. I use mine daily to check out the girls. you can get them at any hardware store or garden center. About $10. Its also not such a bad idea to really stress the plants by just letting them dry out between waterings. Let the leaves go limp and then water them. It is interesting to watch how fast they plump back up again. The stress also causes the plant to want to reproduce more, since it thinks it is dying. In other words an increase in the resin that we all look for. Hope this helps. Dr. Bloor

The drying out method sounds pretty easy, but is there a risk for the plants dry out too much? I'll be having no extra heat in the growroom as I'll have envirolites, so is about once a week watering for 10 liter pot proper?

Yea, hoping to find some moisture meter, will make a lot easier... Soil is 60%, perlite 20%, vermiculite 20%.

Moisture meters are ok bud i find they rip alot roots if used excessive times daily , which is obviously going to slow/affect growth.
They dont think they are dying at all, they are looking for water when they start to wilt, good resin production is achieved by letting your plants SLIGHTLY wilt , then watering.

i would say on average the pots need water about every 4-5 days. mine, that is but fans, plant size, how rootbound they are, and temps could affect this. i dont really keep a schedual.

Stick your finger into the soil to your 1st knuckle. Dry? water.
Or go by the weight of the container.
