Drug laws are about concentrating profits, nothing else.

Unless you want to include how it demoralizes a nation and makes it easier to impose tyranny, to criminalize addiction and all of it's corollary social stigmas and dynamics.

After all, the West is the consumer and it will be central to their policy of deflecting responsibility for social ills onto the 'war on terror.'
