Crowd swipes dying man's groceries
MESA, Ariz., Oct. 3 (UPI) -- The sight of an old man being hit by a truck in Arizona touched off a feeding frenzy among witnesses who allegedly stole the dying victim's groceries.
Not only were the man's groceries taken, but the only person who tried to help him also had his own bags taken.
Mesa police told KPHO-TV in nearby Phoenix that the scavengers could face theft charges if they are eventually tracked down.
The elderly victim was waiting for a bus Tuesday night when a pickup truck swerved off the road and plowed into the stop. The man was sent flying as were his bags of groceries.
As the truck sped off with a white plastic bag flapping on its grill, witnesses began grabbing whatever scattered food they could get their hands on. Boro Mitrovich, who was himself nearly struck, said he ran to help the man and had his bag disappear as well.
"One minute it was on the ground, the next minute it was gone," Mitrovich told KPHO.slipknotpsycho Reviewed by slipknotpsycho on . i am seriously starting to wonder... if maybe our entire world should be wiped out.... i'm starting to see/hear more and more about stories like this... Mornin' ya'll! Yea I saw that on the news the other morning.....really sad. But karma will catch up with those people.
Stuff like this is happening more and more frequently....Remember back in ummmm....2003 I think when that chick in Tx hit the homeless guy and drove home with him stuck in her windshield and let him die in her garage? We are bringing about our own destruction piece by piece....it is what it is.....

pfff. Obviously they were hungry, and the poor fella on the ground wouldn't be needing them anymore.
What's the prob? Were the groceries crucial evidence or something?

But dang....they could have tried to help him before they stole his groceries....at least waited until the ambulance took him away...he had to lay there dying, watching people steal his shit....
it is what it is.....

Hadn't the ambulance been called already? I'm assuming it had been. Otherwise yeah it's terrible.

Even if it had been....wouldn't sheer human decency call to at the least, provide some measure of comfort to a dying man, rather than make off with his last purchases? Or to show a smidge of respect and not act as pitiful scavengers? What makes us better than the animals if we conduct ourselves like that?
it is what it is.....
