If your weed is dry, just get out that old wire mesh strainer and start rubbing it through! Or you could borrow a blender. Use a pulse, not a steady blend. Steady blending results in powder. Pulsing cuts your weed.

And now for a hippie history lesson!

Hippies used to be divided into two basic groups-

There were the "country carders, who preferred carding out the stems and seeds (yes, most pot had seeds back then!) - resulting in a larger flaked product- good for pipes.

You put the pot in a shoe box lid, grab a card or matchbook cover and pour in your pot about 3/4 of the way down. Hold the lid at an angle, high end away from you. Scrape the card along the lid and push the pot up about an inch or two. Lift the card up and a few seeds will fall down toward the bottom. Repeat many times until seeds are gone. Takes some time, but you don't always have a 7-11 to pop into to get your zig-zags when you live in way out in the boonies! "Pipe weed" don't need no stinkin' papers! :hippy:

Then there were the "City sifters" who would rub dry weed through a wire mesh strainer. All the seeds and stems stay in the strainer. A couple of drops of water ( or other liquids- I knew a guy who liked adding rum or wine) restores the weed's moisture. TOO MUCH WATER CAN CAUSE MOLD!!! This sifting technique results in a finely flaked weed, good for joints. Use your largest-holed mesh strainer- most tea strainers make almost a powder! The drier your weed, the better this method works. :smokin:
