tldr version: i see little/no editing and i think 'casual, friendly' - i see tons of heavy editing and shit and i think 'arrogant assmunch' but its probably just me

this doesnt apply to all situations, like if youre writing an informative article meant to help out your fellow forumgoers then by all means make it look publishable. but if you're quick replying to 'WHATS UR FAVORITE STONED QUESTION TO ASK?' then it doesnt need to read like homer...
Is it arrogant for somebody who is a great athlete to feign klutziness whilst sporting with those who lack skill? Skill and arrogance are two separate things. I love America, but the worst of America's pervasive views is that mental skill is arrogant and white collar, but physical skill is noble and blue collar. This is why we have the leadership in government that we do. All of the best scholars of history were blue collar after all...

It seems more arrogant to talk down to people than it does to give them the chance to talk up. Faking bad grammar in order to be down with the masses is phony--and something best left to George Bush Junior. For those who are not faking, at least take advantage of the spell checker, which conveniently underlines ones mistakes.

It also seems detrimental to the decriminalization movement for cannabis users to display themselves publicly as idiots--though many of us are--because that is the main weapon that the Drug War uses against us in the first place. Marijuana does not make a person stupid, but amplifies one's stupidity if it is already present.

It is also nice to write posts that other people can readily understand. We are all too busy to have to break out the teenage decoder ring for every other post when we are trying to learn how to save our sick plants or our sick world....I just like to keep these things in mind as much as I can when posting on public message boards (which is essentially the same thing as having a public discussion with a group of strangers out in the real world). Somebody is taking the time to listen and read this shit! Ewww...I said, shit. I am so casual and funny! You can trust me to smoke a joint with you!:rasta:

That being said, Jaggar, most times I feel the same way as you do (and that is why I edited this post dressed in a diaper and baby bonnet while smoking a cigar in an antique Victorian perambulator--so as not to take myself too seriously), and find myself so arrogant that I try to spend as little time with myself as possible...but pedants are people too, so I must stick in there and give myself a chance!
