Europe / America
New York is also named after York in England of course.
York is an historic walled city in Northern England, at the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss. Over the years it has also been known as Eboracum, Eoferwic, and as JórvÃ*k. its still known as Efrog in Welsh to this day.It is in North Yorkshire and is one of the most beautiful cities in Englandpsychocat Reviewed by psychocat on . Europe / America I play a lot of online poker and in the profiles on the table it displays the placename of the person. I often ask where precisely they are because I know a lot of American places have European names, Canadian ones too. It's not always clear if they are from east or west of the Atlantic. I was just wondering how many Americans on here live in a place with a European twin or close to a town that shares it's name with somewhere European. I used to live in Holland and Beverwijk is one of Rating: 5
