    Root to plant height ratio

I'm new to this grow game and I'm hoping someone can help me out. My plants are 10 days old. They grew about 2" in height and then stopped but the leaves kept growing and so did the roots. The leaves and roots are two times the height of the stem. Is this normal. Also one of the quickest growing of the plants (Ice) the leaves are starting to fold. Am I lacking something in my nutrients? I'm using a HPS suntagro 430w at 24" above the plants. Should I raise it higher so the plants stretch for the light?
Thanks I appreciate any feed back.

    Root to plant height ratio

Your plant in a vegetative state should be wider than it is tall and the roots should be much longer than it is tall. Check out my grow log to see. It will stay bushy in vegetative and stretch out during flowering.
