n00b!
I quit playing Hal0 2 for awhile, then I got obsessed with Final Fantasy XI. People in MMO's are a lot more polite than people playing an FPS, I guess due to the hyperviolent aspect of the games.
I forgot how rude some people can be. Those kids always say, "I fucked your mom last night. You're gay, n00b!" Can't they come up with something more interesting? How about, "Right now I am hacking your computer. Right now, I have your address and phone number on my screen. The next time you get a phone call in the middle of the night, you have five minutes until I will show up at your house with a turkey carving knife, to kill you. Good game, by the way."angry nomad Reviewed by angry nomad on . n00b! I quit playing Hal0 2 for awhile, then I got obsessed with Final Fantasy XI. Haha, interesting.... but yeah, some of my favorite multiplayer games (Halo, Counter-strike) are constantly plagued with those kids. Sometimes you just gotta dome rock 'em.

I have found that online gaming in general brings out immaturity and selfishness in a LOT of players. In FPS, MMOs any genre. Though the immaturity and rudeness is much stronger in games that are competitive but it's still highly common in mmo's...

U usually find its the people who are shit who say all that crap, i was in a clan for spearhead , and that was full of people who used to throw smoke grenades at you then when you kill them they say lucky shot , or 'spray' , what do they expect when they tried to kill you with a tin full of smoke ! ?

On of the reasons everyone in ffxi is so nice is due to the fact that you NEED other people in that game. The better networked you are in ffxi the easier it is to put together exp groups and do the difficult high end stuff like NM camping and the divine stuff.
You can always look back, but you can never change the past.

FFXI community (and other mmo) are alot more polite because you have to be... like it or not, you need people for help... and at some point, you are bound to party up or ask for help from the same people you called a noob and everything else....
in fps you never depend EVER on someone else.... you depend on yourself and your skills.... so you can spare to talk shit and face no consequences (other then those handed down by the mods/devs for breeching TOS) but in mmo's... you talk shit you gain a rep fast... and mmo's take alooooooooot more time and work, AND most importantly, cooperation.... you talk shit it will come back to bite you in the ass...
that being said, i've never been afraid to tell people what i think of them in game (i play FFXI as well.... 60RDM on valefore) but i reserve it for the worst of the worst.... someone does soemthing stupid in pt i never get on them about it...shit happens we make mistakes.... but noobs however, i tell them what they should be doing, and still refuse to do it (since you play you understand the diffrence in jobs, and how vital it is said person plays that job the conventional way, rather then just doing what they want...say a whm meleeing while in a exp party) then we're gonna have problems, and i won't spare words....
when you start repeatedly doing stpuid shit in parties and alliances, even after being 7told to stop doing said action, you're putting up to 17 other peoples lifes and hard work on the line becuase you want to be a hard-headed ignorant fucker.... so you can expect i will say something to you.... keep it up and i will move to have leader kick you, or do it myself if i am leader, and if leader refuses i will leave.... i'm not losing my hard work just because someone wants to be ignorant....

Hmmmm I'm not so sure, I've met a lot of assholes on both sides. But also a lot of really decent folk. I also feel MMO's bring out the worst in people. In FPS gamers are wankers at times, but its nothing more than big talk, or to just piss off the opponent. However in MMO's you have to spend a lot of hours questing, grinding, and usually depending upon other peoples skills to help you succeed. Since people spend hours upon hours grinding and even quests taking time, if someone fucks up the other team members will often jump down their throats. I've seen it happen plenty of times. The way I see it is that in FPS the cussing means nothing, it's just to wind you up. However in MMO what those people say often mean it.
