Do you have a junk drawer?

My husband would be the first to tell you that I have three junk drawers. Two in the kitchen: one is a combination of old mis-matched stainless dinnerware plus pens, pencils, recipes, take-out menus, dog leashes, and other random additions like sea shells. The other is more usable junk like keys, paperclips, old plastic or tin containers, rubber bands, flashlight bulbs, batteries, etc. The top left drawer of my bedroom dresser is a junk drawer, too: orphaned socks, hair brushes, old thermometers, little purse calendars, junk jewelry, hairbands, earring backs, cologne samples, etc. He considers my makeup drawer in the bathroom a junk drawer too, but it's not. It's just junky-looking.

I'm not a naturally organized person when it comes to my belongings. This is not easy on the neat, organized, orderly Dr. Byrd. He keeps his own drawers and closet in perfect precise order. I've been known to pull his things just slightly out of alignment to see if he notices. He always does. I always know right where my stuff is. I just sometimes have to paw through drawers or shelves a little longer to excavate it.
