Lotion/brownie recipe
Hey everyone,I did a quick search and didnt find a lotion recipe on here.If there I apologize for maybe doubling up.I have osteo in both of my hands and my partner has R.A.I have found for my partner that steady smoking has lessened the swelling in her fingers and that my "blackout brownies" work better than the pain meds that make her sick.I will post the lotion recipe below.
I posted this recipe a week or so ago in response to someone who had pain in their wrists and hands.Im posting esentially what I wrote there so that more folks who might want to try this might give it a shot.Ive had pretty postive responses from folks who have used it.For me it takes the edge of my discomfort,my hands and fingers are still stiff but the pain is significantly lessened (for me anyways)
Does anyone have any thoughts about how this might work in combination with a Parifin (sp?)dip?Ive never had one but I hear that they feel great.I wonder if soaking your hands in some kind of cannabis lotion (in combination with a Parifin dip) would really help to relieve discomfort? My partner suggested this as a possible use for my lotion. In the near future we might give it a shot.
Oh by the way this is a recipe I lifted off the internet from some else.Just citing my sources, haha.Actually some of the best ideas Ive had were other peoples that I modified for my own use, haha.Well here you are...
Creams and Lotions:
This is the recipe for mediweed cannabis cream recommended for arthritis etc. Obviously this makes quite a lot of cream.
The next time I make this recipe I will double the amount of cannabis used. This cream/lotion works well but I will try it with more ā??special sauceā?/trim.
500 ml olive oil
75 grams beeswax
50 grams cannabis trim leaves
1 Litre water
(I add lanolin but donā??t remember the amount, I add when the mixture is almost done)
Ideally the cream should be made in a slow cooker, or a saucepan can be used but simmer only, do not boil.
Add olive oil and trim and water and simmer for 4 hours, stirring every 30 mins.
After 4 hours, allow to cool
Pour contents through a sieve into a clean bowl: press the cannabis trim with the back of a spoon to force out as much oil as possible, and discard the trim
Place water and oil solution into coldest part of fridge and after 24 to 48 hours the olive oil will solidify - this will allow you to separate the oil and discard the water. Or place the oil water mix into a freezer.
You should be left with a slightly green olive oil in solid form.
Place it into a saucepan and GENTLY simmer - DO NOT BOIL
Add the beeswax in small pieces and let it dissolve whilst stirring.
Pour mixture into suitable containers - wide necked are best, and allow to cool. (old hand cream containers are what I used/picked up at the local co-op for free)
Apply cream twice a day, morning and evening.
You can add a few drops of essential oil like lavender oil, with the beeswax for a pleasant aroma. ( I use orange oil and a bit of Patchouli oil). UPDATE: I didnā??t care for the Patchouli oil so now I just use orange oil.
This is a greasy lotion so after working in to your hands for 10-15 minutes you might want to wipe.
Oh by the way when I make butter my recipe is very close to what Bob calls for and it works great.I now use 4 cups of trim/shake/buds to one pound of butter.Might be overkill but works way better than pain meds without making anyone sick.I might post my brownie recipe in the future.I dont really care for the taste of cannabutter or what the brownies taste like when using this butter.Im sure its just me but I load so much crap in my brownies that you cant taste the butter/weed.Its so rich that you will go into a sugar coma 20 minutes later but you cant taste the weed, haha, and they are so rich that you wont want any sweets for a week, haha.
Good luck everyone and I hope this helps, take care and be wellCharles U Farley Reviewed by Charles U Farley on . Lotion/brownie recipe
High! I'm very interested in trying your lotion recipe here. I have neuropathic pain and am curious if this would decrease some of my pain? Question: When you call for 50 grams(which you said you would double?) of trim leaves... do you mean just that? Trim leaves? the leaves one would trim during regular grooming? Please respond w/ answer and any other advice you can give. Thanks so much for your time.
