not that i actually beleive that, but in this situation, taking justice in your own hands would only make things worse... if he's done that just becuase he was drunk, what do you think he'd do once he found out she went and told complete strangers what happened, and he suffered a beating becuase of it? she'd probably end up being beaten like 5x worse...

and taking her to the police? ok i'll tell you what would happen... they'd see the evidence of what happened, and in most states whether she wants to press charges or not, he will go to jail... for that night and MAYBE just MAYBE get a restraining order.. which is also useless unless she would call the cops if he violated it, or beat her again in which the police got involved yet again (her being volunary or not), then he might get a court date, be up for a max of 10k bail and be right back out...

as sad as it is, sometimes you do have to think ahead and realize the justice system doesn't always work... it works fewer times then it does work actually... so you have to think about her, and what she will be facing once he's once again free...

so i'd say you made the right decision... perhaps you could talk to her more and convince her of what can happen if she doens't do something soon... but otehr then that, it's out fo your control....

If I saw someone who just got their ass kicked, especially a woman, I'd contact the authorities because they can legally kick his ass. Maybe, he wouldn't be able to post bail. In some states, you don't get any of your money back. He'd have to go to court, sooner or later. At least something's being done.

I'm not the type to take sides or get involved in peoples buisness but that species needs to be exterminated. It was very nice of you to help, dont get me wrong, but Chron tends to jeoporadize himself due to an uncontrollable urge to rid the earth of scummy fucks like that!
Also, if you didnt bury the dude, it's possible HER life could get worse, so that was maybe the best thing to do.

i guess tha'ts where we part views... i'd love to have them all locked up... but atleast in my state, someone who's been found to of particpated in domestic violence, whehter they admit or not, or whether the victim would like to press charges, are given just a night in jail and sometimes a restraining order.. fi the woman doens't want to seperate herself from the situation, she will be right back with the guy the next day... in which he's liable to get even more violent....

opinoin will probably differ from state to state considering laws are diffrent, but around here, law care a good 3-5x more about drunk drivers then domestic assault... if you want a national comparison on how such things are dealt with, think about the extremely rich people who are later found to of engaged in fraud.... tehre's just a lot of talk, and hte possiblity for srong punishment, but the judge/jury just doens't care enough to do anything major about it....

btw, if you're wondering how i know so well what happens, it's because my uncle is a lunatic, there's never been one woman he's been with that he hasn't beaten so bad it's amazing they escaped severe injury.... and even with this tract record (he's neither rich or powerful, fame wise either) all that really happens is he goes to jail for the night and he's out and back with that woman the next day... til a week or two later when he does it again and gets the same thing....

BUT he's spent about half his life in prison from drunk driving...

trust me, i actually know what i'm talking about... i woudln't claim things in such detail if i didn't...

Well, either way, it's his word against hers. If she was brought straight to the police station, at least her injuries would be documented.

that's the problem tho =/ atleast here, even with proof, they don't do anything about it...

i do understnad what you're saying, and things are likely diffrent from where you're at, i was just saying what happens here =/ texas has alooooooooot of screwed up laws....

shit =/ my brothers killer got 2 years meanwhile later on, texas tried and HAS sought the death penalty for predators....

now i don't really care about the punishment for them, for me the worse the better.... but to me, that's telling me they want to offer down justified punishments to predators, while they don't care about murderers...

that same thing goes with wife beaters and drugs... get involved in just a hand to hand domestic dispute, and you''ll be out the very next day, (it's not til afte ryou come back that they will look into bail) basicly just a warning, yet for a half a gram you can spend the night in jail, get over 3,000 in fines and court costs (excluding lawyer) lose your liscense among others things....

My girlfriend was sexually assaulted, here, and, someone else called the police for a domestic disturbance, after I found out. The police came and, in the end, he was let off of the charges. He did have to bail himself out of jail, and get a court-provided lawyer (I forgot the name of them). When the police showed up, they found beer in his cart, and, because of that, he was fired, evicted, and, isn't allowed on the property, anymore (which may be because of the sexual assault allegations). The judge would have to believe her story over his, and, I think that pictures from the police station would be the clincher.

My girlfriend wasn't hurt and had none.

Crudemood: Nope, never seen Dexter but have heard it's an 'interesting' show to say the least. I'm FAR from a violent person, but for a man to inflict pain on a woman or child is putting the last nail in his own casket.

Slip: I couldnt agree more that our judicial system has failed us in many ways. As much as I like the sound of 'an eye for an eye leaves everyone blind', I cannot seem to understand that, when I'm already blinded by my own hatred.

As a civilation, I feel we are responsible for this big fucking mess of unguided youth, and without powerful examples to learn from, I'm afraid nothing will change.

Another thing I'd like to bring up that I'm surprised nobody's mentioned: LADIES, BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELVES! I would NEVER place blame on a victim of abuse. I would however place the responsability to respect and honor ones self, and LEAVE THAT SITUATION FAR BEHIND!.......another fine example of why we should only fear, FEAR.
