    Problem with sprouting

Ok, so for the past month or so I have attempted to germinate/sprout seeds.

The first 5-6 seeds I put in a moist sponge in my window and I kept it moist everyday. That failed after about a week.

The second time, I went with the test tube method of germination. A couple of seeds put their first little root out, so I put them into a styrofoam bowl with some potting soil and planted them a half-inch. That failed after over a week.

Now, I've got about the same quality seeds as last time. It came from some dense, pretty dank stuff. The seeds looked healthy. They were greyish with black stripes and whatever. They looked good. So I once again put them in the test tube, one put its root out so I just planted them all. I cut a styrofoam cup in half and (so its as tall as a dixie cup) and put 3 seeds in each cup. I poked holes in the bottom, and I have been watering them moderately twice a day. I leave them outside all day and take them in at night. They are kept in a warm, dark place.

What am I doing wrong? All the people I know have tossed a bunch of seeds in a hole in the ground and had sprouts in under a week. It's almost like I'm trying too hard.

    HELP ME!!!!!!!

It kinda does sound like your trying to hard lol if thats possible.Umm try rockwool cubes thats how i sprout my seeds. But if you use rockwool cubes remember you have to soak the cubes before you put the seeds in them becuase cuase of their high acidty they have. And make sure the water you soak the cubes in is ph correct.Or keep doing it your way but when it starts to root put it in soil and water maybe that might help.good luck

    Problem with sprouting

I soak my seeds in water until they sink, then place them in a moist, but not dripping, paper towl in Tupperware. I store the container in a dark calm place. After a day or two check the seeds; you should begin to see white sprouts. Take it from there.

    Problem with sprouting

You're using too much water and possibly planting too deep.
