How can my plant improve?

Well my plant has been growing since early July and ever since I put it inside my house in early September its growth has improved much more. It is a little stretched, and the leaves on the bottom do not grow as well as the top ones. Why is this occurring, and how can I improve the growth of the bottom leaves and get the stem bigger in diameter.

how big of a light do you have, need big hid to penetrate the canopy of plants, and if their too bushy bottom sites wont see much light

could use yarn and tie up the branches to get better light penetration

put a good oscilating fan on the tops of plants and posibly bottoms of plants too is good for air circulation and stregnthens the stem when the bush sways

If your plant is a little stretched it may be too far from the light source thus "stretching" towards it.. try moving it a wee bit closer. And for your fan leaves, simply use some foil propped up so that the light is reflected to the lower portion of the plant >|, make sure that the dull side of the foil is reflecting the light and not the shiny side

dont use foil, it creates hotspots, atleast use flat white paint

Thx for your replies. I am currently using a florescent coil bulb since it is in the vegetative cycle. I keep the light on for about 18 hours a day. Ever since I transplanted it, the stem has been growing bigger. It has been a month now and I would say it is twice as wide. Maybe I just need to wait longer?

However, I have my plant incased in an aluminum dome underneathe my lamp. I am only doing this because my walls are not white. Should I still keep the incasing?

Oh and another question, if I got a blue tinted florescent bulb would this help to speed up growth?

blue tint is good for veg
while redish orange is good for flower
i would paint flat white instead of using the aluminum dome, as to me it would keep under the dome hotter than everything else. more airflow to plant is better :stoned:
