Yes. I do not think the video is about evolution.

It's a humorous way to look at human behavior, looking at it from the perspective of monkeys behaving the way we do. Human beings are animals, and some of the things we do are bizarre when you compare it to other animals. But I think the video oversimplifies a few things to make it's point and to be funny.

One difference between humans and most other animals is our ability to visualize different possibilities. We can think about a different kind of future and visualize a world that is different from the way the world is now. Most animals I think do not have a concept of the future. I think they mostly react to the moment and act on instinct. So the point the video makes about people trying to be happy while other animals just find a way to simply BE is kind of oversimplified. Humans can visualize a way to change things so that they will be happier, and can work toward it, while animals cannot. Of course, the problem is that humans aren't always correct about what will make them happy. And often our more monkey-like animal instincts for how to make ourselves happy comes at the expense of other people who are trying to be happy too.

I also thought that the video oversimplified the peacefulness of the animal world. Animals of all kinds can act violently in their own self interest. Part of the problem with humans is that we have the capacity to leverage those undesireable instincts with a lot of intelligence and technology. We're able to act violently in our own self interest in a much bigger way.
