Yeah anyway i guess i have always had a fear of rejection since like the 6th grade, since then ive only asked a girl twice to anything and one was for senior homecoming and the other was to senior prom last year. basically just a stand in date, nothing really between us, so it wasnt a fear of rejection there because we mutually needed each other you know. its really weird shit man, ive never found myself unattractive, girls love the 6 pack, but i guess i have always had some underlying insecurity or phobia or something that has kept me from having the initiative to really go in for a kiss or ask someone out, for fear of rejection or an awkward answer. i went out on a limb tonight and tried, got turned the fuck down. so i just am not gonna bother anymore.

I hear you man, I was the same way... probably still am but I'm married now (to a gal who took the initiative!) so it doesn't come into play. Some people have that confidence, some don't. In the past, I had no problem jumping out of a plane or going bungee jumping but the thought of asking a chick out was crippling. I did get over it eventually. It's funny though, it's not the success that help build your confidence, it's the failures. Once you're turned down or dumped often enough you start to realize it's not the end of the world, nobody dies and life goes on and before you know it someone else catches your eye and you're taking at shot at them.
