Scenario: Your boss says

I had that happened at a job where I was a Director. The owner came in my office and lite up and we smoked. It was great until the company sold to a larger company and they had a drug policy.

me and my buddy walk behind the dumpster and there both of them are blazing and bummin hits off us lol

Everyone at restaurants smokes weed. imp: heheh

But, to answer your question, it depends on the boss. My old chef was very open about his drug use.

When I worked for a government contractor, everyone was a lot more uptight. There were about 10 to 20% of us that smoked weed. I could tell.

I have two bosses... The first one, I'd probably be like, "FA SERIOUS!?" and if he was serious I'd probably be like, "Hold up, give me a few seconds to pack my bowl".

The other one...not so much.

I smoke up with all my supervisors/managers though.

When I worked at a commercial greenhouse, my boss was regularly offering me herb, but I didn't smoke at the time. Silly silly me.
Now that I have a job in academia, I'd be shocked but not terribly, and olny because of my boss specifically... you'd be surprised at the number of very straight-laced and even stuffy looking academics who are closet "Chronisseurs".
I would at least insist that he have some of my stash of honey mustard onion pretzel shards, because I've always thought he was a tiny little wisp of a thing and needs some fattening up!

Oh! And Edit, I would insist that we follow proper lab safety procedures and smoke away from the solvent storage, wear personal protective equipment, and use the bio hood so as not to offend others who might not enjoy the smoke so much.
