Urgent advice from uk people needed
Hi I'm in London and my family have just signed up with a new doctor, they ask for a urine sample as part of a full medical check, is a drug test ever part of a full medical check? (and if not what are they testing for?) I assume I would be obliged to consent if this does happen so is there any possibility they will do a drug test?
(I went clubbing very recently and may still have traces of class A's in me)
If so would that legally allow them to decline me treatment or tell anyone? Or do anything for that matter?
Thanks in advanceukmonkey Reviewed by ukmonkey on . I don't think they can do anything for having previously used drugs....
Nothing illegal about that....but might get police involved...
not entirly sure...thinking about it...it would be a completewaste of police time.
Just make sure you have nothing to hide where you live...and don't worry about it...

Don't worry about it dude, I don't think they will be testing for drugs inless you specifically know it's about that. Even if they were, they wouldn't be allowed to pass information on to the police for no reason. It will be fine.

I'm pretty sure as long as your over 18 the doctor has to abide to 'Doctor Patient Confidentiality' or atleast that's what i always thought, i don't know the law all that well, but they used to have to take an oath...
Hippocratic Oath - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hmm..... "although it is not obligatory and no longer taken up by all physicians"To fall in hell :chainsaw: or soar angelic :angelsmiley: you need a pinch of psychedelic :silly:

They have no right to tell the police under patient, doctor confidentiallity laws.
Also they cannot refuse treatment on the grounds of drug use either.
Don't panic
