Hmm...my apologies for the misinformation, then. I generally won't harvest until 20-30% of the trich's have gone amber, and I've had mixed results in the type of high that's induced. I'm also pretty attached to many "white" strains, and it seems that regardless of when they come into fruition and are harvested, the high still tends to render me stupid & knock me on my ass. Then again, there have been plenty of times when a few good tokes has put me in the mood to write a few new chapters in my novel.

...still looking for the right strain that unlocks sheer brilliance and makes aspiring writers like myself rich beyond our wildest dreams!

Guess I'll just have ta keep on looking. What a drag...

No problem. We are all learning, even the experts. I tend to notice the sheer brilliance comes out a little more if I'm smoking weed that the trichs are more toward the clear side. Also I'll tell you what seems to have been working for me, and thats BB x NL. What's your novel about?

Ah, I haven't had any N. Lights in quite some time. Those were some fond memories!

I actually have three projects in the works, two of which have made it past the 50,000 word mark. One is based around a widower who's grieving the sudden loss of his wife and daughter, who were both killed in a collision with a drunk driver. Right now I'm really just building up the characters, and also learning about them myself. My wife is constantly on my ass trying to get me to pick up the computer again and finish my stories...because she loved them, and was as curious as I was to see how they'd turn out. I used to write all the time. In fact, I made a living from writing for a while. But I've since started my own business, working approximately seventy million hours per week, and rarely have the energy to sit down and write anymore. I do miss it dearly, though.

The second novel is really just a goofy compilation of all the weird shit that's happened to me in my life. That one I have little intent of ever seeing in the hands of a publisher, but it's serving as a good place to vent and rant about obscurities. Naturally, that one's proving to be the most fun to write! If it will help you gain any insight into my style of writing, two of my favorite contemporary authors are Hunter Thompson and Russell Banks. Banks' Rule of the Bone is great, by the way, and a highly recommended read.

And I've also started a semi-biography about the life and times of Miyamoto Musashi, a famed ronin and swordsman of feudal Japan. Another project that's fun to write, but much more difficult and time-consuming due to the amount of research and fact finding that's required.

One day, and with a lot of luck and a little "inspiration" (or maybe it's the other way around?) I hope to get these long term writing projects published. I'm not delusional enough to think that I'm going to be the next John Grisham, but I would like to be able to earn enough royalties (and subsequent advances) to be able to sell my business and work from home again.

Maybe you're right...maybe it's the NL that I've been searching for all this time! I'd have to do further research into this matter. :smokin:

Ah yes, writing. Those were the good ol' days. I got A's in my college writing classes because I liked them so much. I sure wish my 1/3 written novel/story didn't get stolen along with my computer. Back up your important stuff!

...and sorry to hear about your computer. Even with all of my important documents backed up, I'd be totally lost without my laptop. (I'm currently using a fairly new Vaio...and am absolutely loving it!) I have a desktop, but it's been pretty much relinquished to my wife and her video games/online book clubs/and random projects. Plus, it's a Mac...and those things confuse me to no end.
