    2nd Cab grow

yeah i know i only cut off the larger fan leaves witch happen to take up more space then i imagine. i cant sit here for four day n play around with this stuff not for this grow i am just finishing up mid term, so i decided to remove the fan leaves n put a big fan blowing on them all day...the fan brought the temperature of the room down from 88degrees to 70...

i know for next time how to do it properly and hopefully have more time battling these pest off instead of removing the leaves.

here are the pics...let me know how much damage i did

I'm sure they'll be fine. The overall yield might not end up quite as good as if you left the leaves on, but any difference won't be much. They may look like they kinda stopped growing for a few days while they recover, but if this does happen don't worry.

Your leaf tips are browning and that's a sign of too much nutrients. I would suggest backing it of very slightly. OR watch it carefully and if it doesn't get any worse than it is now it will be fine.

And I'm not trying to be a pain in the butt, but I contend that it would take less time to put a couple of No Pest Strips in there and turn the ventilation off at night, than it would to cut off the fan leaves. But then again, maybe not. Each to his own, you gotta do what you gotta do, different strokes for different folks, birds of feather... No wait, that's not one.

    Looking good overall. Nice.

Whatever amount you were using, I would probably just use slightly less for awhile and see if it stops happening. Then if you want to find out the absolute maximum she'll take, you start increasing very slowly while watching for signs of stress again. Once you see the first sign of stress you know that is too much, and you need to use the amount just before the one that caused stress.

Or if you are monitoring your PPM, if you have say, 1400, try 1325 instead.

    Nice.

The hairs turning colors means next to nothing (Please don't yell at me about this). Basically, the closer to harvest time it is, the more hairs there will be that have turned brown. There is obviously a correlation between trichomes being ready and what percentage of the hairs are brown. But not only does it vary widely between varieties, but it could vary between plants, depending on what you've fed it, genetics, blah, blah, blah. Once you have worked with your particular plants for awhile, you can use your magnifying tool less, and the tool between your ears more. I mean to determine when to harvest by means of pistil color. It also depends on how you like your weed. Clear, cloudy, amber? For example, soon you may start to realize that for your variety, once 90% of the hairs in the top 2/3 of your canopy have turned brown, then roughly 5% of the trichomes are amber, 5% are clear, and the rest are cloudy. Just exactly the way you like it.

Hmm, I'm thinking that should be a sticky or something. People keep asking about that all the time. No offense intended whatsoever, Mr. Blue.
