That you and Mom need to have a L-O-N-G talk!
(a) She's getting careless!
(b) Does she know you smoke? Does she know that you know she smokes?
(c) How would she feel if her kid became her supplier?

You also need to consider the legal angle - does your Mom rent or own? If she rents, you guys could face immediate eviction. If she owns, the cops can confiscate the house as a product of drug activity, even if it isn't. Did you think about that? It is way too late in the year to grow outside.

My advice- have that talk with Mom and wait until spring and put out some cup-grown seedlings next spring. Make it a picnic in the boonies for you and Mom- nice bonding experience. Read the grow FAQs in the meantime. Those curly CFLs will work. Avoid Miracle Grow products. Grow organically. - Granny:hippy:

Are you old enough that your mom never goes into your closet? Like adult size? If and only if so, then you could do a real small grow in your closet, with odor control and other stealth being primary concerns.

I would never try it in my parents house or apt. You will eventually get caugt.

Who is it that you're afraid of getting caught by? Your mother, or the authorities? Most people who ask this question (how to grow without the parents finding out) get the same answer: don't do it. It's almost impossible to conceal the smell without specialized equipment...equipment that simply isn't easy for a minor to acquire. Assuming that you are a minor, that is.

Storm & Opie summed up the rest pretty nicely. If you plan on going outside with your grow, you'll need to wait. Cooler weather & shorter days are on their way. This'll give you plenty of time to educate yourself on the finer points of growing. Talk to your mother about your options, but also remember to educate yourself heavily about the current laws regarding cultivation. If things go sour, you're probably looking at federal penalties...not just a slap on the wrist and subsequent probation/fines.
