how to start seeds

just went from soil to hydro. i have some seed germed and i need to know how i should start them in a system i have 5inch baskets and 3 in baskets i have rock wool should i just drop themin some rock wool and set the rock wool in the bottom of the baskets until i see growth and then add more rock wool or what.

What sort of hydro setup are you planning on working with? Regardless of type, you'll probably end up using rockwool cubes regardless...but depending on which type of system you plan on running (ebb & flow, drip, wick, etc.) will factor in whether or not you need to use any kind of soilless medium.

Also, many new hydroponic growers underestimate the strength of the solutions they plan on using, and inevitably end up burning their babies. Be sure that you're not exceeding the recommended dosage, and you'd probably actually benefit from using a much more dilute preparation for your first grow. This might result in a smaller yield, but at least there will be a yield...as opposed to a totally burned crop yielding nothing!
