I am so proud of my daughter

Actually, I am very proud of both of them..I went to my daughters football game..she is 11 and a cheerleader..really not my favorite pick, but it suits her well with her gymnastics background..plus, she likes it a lot, she is a very focused girl, has a good sense of humor but takes awhile to warm up to people..they have made her the captain, and when I watched her tonight, I just seen how grown up she is becoming..her moves were very tight, the tightest of all the girls, very fluid..she practices in private a lot.and when she does that round off back handspring or tuck people trip..but she is real modest and dosent show off, but only does it when she is required too. I think I may encourage her to go into dance, we have talked about it before..it may also suit her very well..that sure wouldnt be a bad profession to get into..but she is allowed to make her own moves into whatever she wants to do..I will never push her one way or the other..only guide her the best that I know how.

That's really awesome. Cheerleaders are cool. They look cute. (I was always jealous of them, myself!) There is nothing like parental love to really knows what it feels like when your heart swells with pride! It's an awesome feeling. :4:

That's nifty, Geonagual. She sounds like she has real aptitude for that, which is great. I think cheereleaders sometimes get the short end of the deal when they get lumped into a stereotype or assumed to be doing an activity that's frivolous or silly. Those kids are disciplined, serious gymnasts and dancers, and they're hard workers, from what I've seen. Not everyone can do that. That's great that you're such a supportive dad. Your girls are both beautiful young ladies.

I used to be a dancer, gymnast and cheerleader; honestly it's a TON of fun and when you've done something well that you've been practicing for a while, you just feel damn good about yourself. She's really lucky to have a parent like you, my dad was never really into my sports. Always support her! I think dance is something every little girl should at least try; It's an amazing thing to do, recitals are so much exciting, making bonds with the other dancers is great and it's just plain fun (and great for your body) I danced (ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop) until I was 15-16, wish I didn't give it up.

LOL..I heard my oldest say something that I thought was very cool..she said that her sister is her best friend..I like that.

Now that is cool, Geo. We have something in common other than, well, you know, lol.

My daughter was captain of her High School's cheerleading squad her junior and senior year. She was a flyer, and did some amazing stunts! Even went on to cheer in her little college she attended. She even did competition for a year, but that was too hard on her and her studies, so she gave that up.

I enjoyed watching her and her partners in crime bounce around as much as I enjoyed all the football and basketball games I attended!

All the girls called me the Paparazzi. I was the official photographer for the stinkers. My daughters senior year, I made portraits of all the girls, and then caught them as the year went on as they were cheering, and near the end of the year, at the awards banquet, they each got their own personal cheerleading album from me.

That's just me - I LOVE to surprise folks, LOL...

Keep supporting that lil' gal of yours, and she'll turn out just fine!

Oh, and those who think cheerleaders are NOT atheletes need to try doing some of the stunts they do, LOL... I tried, and it was NOT pretty, LOL...

She had competiotion yesterday...she was puking all throughout the morning but she still wanted to go...layed out in the grass till it was time for her squad to do her performance...she went and did her thing..even did a double back handspring and then after it, went and layed down again..feeling terrible...her squad got 1st place..she is glad she went..she is even still sick..but I was real proud of her determination and the reason why she said she had to do..cause she didnt want to let down the team..nice
