US President George W Bush wants countries with influence over Burma to press the military rulers to stop using force after at least nine people were reportedly killed.

One of those to lose his life was a Japanese journalist working for a Tokyo-based video news agency.

Japan's new foreign minister said his country holds Burma accountable for the death of 50-year-old Kenji Nagai.

Soldiers reportedly fired directly into crowds in Rangoon as mass anti-government demonstrations continued.

Witnesses said the photographer fell as troops opened fire.

The military had warned it would shoot demonstrators if they did not disperse.

Dramatic footage on Sky News showed hundreds of demonstrators fleeing baton-wielding soldiers, with clouds of tear gas hanging in the air.

WARNING: This is the actual video of the shooting murder of Kenji Nagai. Some may see this video as offensive material. If I've broken any forum rules I apologize in advance and will immediately remove the video.
