It's a simple wick system, the water that is absorbed by the plant or evaporates from the top is replaced by the water sitting under your pot, its not really that much better than growing in soil although your perilite/vermiculite mix contains no nutrients, the nutrients are in the water that is wicked up and the perilite/vermiculite mix provides more oxygen for the roots
prairieplantsystems Reviewed by prairieplantsystems on . Hempy Bucket ? So i find this post on another site regarding a growing method called the Hempy Bucket. (I'm sure it may have many names). It's basically a bucket with a small hole cut two inches above the bottom. Then you simply add 75% perilite and 25% vermiculite to the bucket and you're good to go. You water through the hole which gives you two inches of water to be used by the plant before next watering. And that's it !!!!! I saw some great results using the method and it is specifically mentioned Rating: 5
