    Cabinet ideas

My original grow idea isn't going to work out due to lack of space and more of a need for stealth than I first anticipated, so I'd like to run a new idea by the fine folks here to get some input.

I am basing my idea on this cabinet, with a few modifications.

I'll build it to measure about 36"L x 22"D x 36"H, with a grow area on the right side of about 26"L x 20"D x 32"H (grow area measurements are approximate inside dimensions). On the left side of the cabinet, the rest of the space (10"L x 22"D x 36"H) will be built with a few shelves so I have somewhere to hide my nutes, ballast, timers etc. This would be where the mother room is on the box I linked to above. The floor of the grow area would be a shelf on some drawer-type rollers so I could pull it in and out to make maintenance easy.

Is the grow area enough for a good 2 plant semi-stadium ScroG? Should I make it taller? I can go up to about 38" - 40" tall if I have to.

I'm definitely putting casters on it so I can scoot it around if I need to move it in a hurry for security reasons. :detective1:

I am thinking about using a Lumatek 250w HPS with a 6500K bulb for veg and switching to a 2600K or so bulb for flowering. This seems like it would give plenty of light and coverage for the area I want to cover. I haven't decided on a hood yet, but I'd prefer to use an aircooled hood, with a squirrel fan (Dayton on a potentiometer, maybe 200cfm, so I can turn it down and still have great airflow without much noise) sucking outside air through the grow chamber, into the hood and through the storage area going out the top or side of the box. Would square 3 gallon pots be enough room for the plants? I'd like to get 200g+ per harvest if possible, but potency and quality are much more important to me than yield.

Could I get away with a 400w HPS in this little box? If I could, would it be of any real benefit? I do keep my apartment around 68F-72F, so I imagine that would help a good bit.

Would CO2 prove useful and worth the money in this set up?

Mylar or matte/satin white paint for the inside? I imagine mylar would be superior.

Since this is my first attempt, I think I'll probably go with soil for the grow, maybe a 50/50 mix of perlite and FF Ocean Forest soil. Would I be better off doing this with a completely inert medium and going for hydroponics via hand watering?

If clones are unavailable to me, what would be the quickest way to get seedlings sexed so that I can get them sorted and under the screen before they get too tall/stiff?

Any strain suggestions? White Widow seems to do really well in a ScroG from what I've read here. I'd definitely like a strong sativa effect to it, if possible, but I'm not that worried about it.

What kind of wood would be best to use? I was thinking of using pine sheets for the walls and generic hardwood 3/4"x3/4" sticks to frame it up. The grow shelf would be made of something a bit sturdier.

    Thanks!

This box might not be tall enough for a 400 watt. I have about 5' of clearence for the light, plants and pots in my small setup and I wouldn't mind 6-8" more. I reccomend checking out the thread: "Lovely Ladies" by justaseed he has 3 SCROG'd white widows and gives detailed instructions about how to train and grow them, it helped me alot. As for yield 200g is very reasonable to expect. If you haven't built the cabinet yet might I suggest a C13 or C25 from Wal Mart, they arn't very expensive and give great results.

Yeah I have seen quite a few thread on that cabinet. I need to go check it out if I can find a large Wally World around here. It sure would be easier and a lot stealthier. Are they easy to seal up and light proof?

    I think I may go with a 250w HPS.

Do you think 4 plants in a scrog with individual bubbler buckets would work?

Thanks for the advice! It is very much appreciated!
