And not only they, but almost every information about astral projection says that is possible to astral project into the past (or the future), and so to know what was and what will be. Thats how the people who foresees the future do it.
Also the called "double", or "other", can be at different times than the "self".

Have you ever seen Deja Vu? The theory in that movie could possibly work. We just got to figure out how to do that. Which hopefully our air force is working on now as we speak!

I think what you're asking is a very complicated and multi-faceted issue.

First, time is simply a human construct. Same as the terms "past", "present", and "future". They refer to our observation of an event relative to another event. So, in reality we are constantly "time traveling" as we are constantly observing events that happen in the present and become the past, so we are moving into the future. Now, the general idea of "time travel" means moving to a certain event marker by will. This is where we have the problem. To perform this feat, we'd have to somehow remove ourselves completely from the space-time continuum. At which point, we'd see all events that have ever happened and will ever happen, all at the same time. This is the main crux of the problem. How can you remove yourself from the space-time continuum? Is there even a "place" to go to that is outside that continuum?

Second, as somebody said earlier in the thread, if you were somehow able to remove yourself from the space-time continuum you'd also have to be able to somehow rejoin that continuum, which more than likely would be done with the same device, meaning that you'd only be able to travel back to the time that device was first turned on.

Third, there becomes the issue of a paradox. If you were able to go back in time and changed something, you'd basically create an alternate future, so when you go back to the time you came from, it'd be different from how you left it in ways you can only imagine.

So, finally, do I think it's possible to time travel? That depends on in which way you mean. In the typical sense of time travel, no, probably not. We might however, if we ever advanced far enough to alter our consciousness and its connection to the space-time continuum we might be able to look at the past or future.

If it worked, we'd know it already. Unless there were extremely strict regulations on it, we'd have seen or heard of something fishy going on, and since history shows us that mankind doesn't like obeying strict regulations...

Sure, time travel is possible. Everytime I listen to Jimmy Hendrix, I immediately travel back in time to the 60's, LOL....

    Burning guitar and EVERYTHING!

And are you kidding about Cannibas Campbell being banned? Or am I just gullable...

Well... as you said in the beginning, the time is a human concept. Our consciousness is "traveling in time" in direction to the future, and thats why we percieve the time going on.
But, it does not mean that our consciousness must be limited to follow it. We humans learn, when childs, to move our consciouness forward in the time, for it follow the time of the other consciousnesses of the other people. And its a so deep rooted thing in our mind that we dont ever question it, and believe that "time" is somewhat that flows regardless our consciousness. Everybody who smoked knows that the time slows down when we are stoned... that our consciousness can percieve the flow of time in different speeds.
So, if you have a sufficient control of your consciousness, by meditation procedures or through hallucinogens, its possible to overcome this conditioning of the perception of the time and percieve a timeless reality, where past, present and future are unified and "happen at the same time", or some what like it. Also is possible to the consciousness move to some other location, not only in the space, but also in the time (cause as said in relativity, space and time are equivalent), and so allow the perciever to perceive things that were or things that will be yet.
