I spent an hour or so with my eyes closed on acid one time and it was fucking INTENSE!!!
It's just like being in a dark room...you still trip and you see shit but you (the blind person on acid) only see what you mind can create without visual stimulus.
But I have no idea what would happen to someone who was blind from birth. That would be pretty goddamn fucked up.

Im pretty sure that a blind person will hallucinate. Ive done a lot of reading on mushrooms and other hallucinogens. One thing ive read a few times are that the indians would claim mushrooms, mescaline, ect. would give enlightment and also cause the blind to see. if your vision is nothing more than an electrical impuse sent from the brain, then why would you say you have to see it first? ive had dreams of things ive never seen before. when i close my eyes long enough, i see weird ass lookin shit. a lot of the visuals when your on mushrooms (besides things morphing) are curved or warped shapes. they are not distictive at all. all of them different in their own way. There are pretty much 2 different minds we have. the concious mind which is our normal state of being allowing us to make decisions, carry out tasks ect... and the unconcious mind. we havent began to really understand the unconcious mind. its something we cant really control. you know the feeling of being happy? the feeling of sad? we cant really control those emotions too much. depending on your emotion, you get a different feeling everytime something that makes your unconcious mind go "whoa". then when you feel pain, you cant really control it. all these emotions and feelings are apart of your unconcious mind. id say that dreaming is also apart of your unconcious mind. what im trying to get at is that your unconcious mind is extremely powerful and no one knows its boundaries. i personally think that when you shroom or do other hallucinogens, both your minds sorta come together. it seems logical that blind people can hallucinate off hallucinogens.
