ok some guy @ the raleys market across the street said they do a hair test that goes back 4 years, and that they invest 5,000$ into every employee. this is crazy. i was going to get a job there, but theres not much that you can do with the hair tests these days. lame

NOPE,
a simple networking job, for an IT company(however large) but has layoff's every single year, and their stock is pretty much in the crapper...
i have other offers however which i begin to interview with starting later today.. ODDS are im gonna pass the Drug exam since i havent smoked or been exposed to mari-bliss in the past 3 months... i can only hope they dont go the hair follicle exam..
something about that exam seems like an invasion of privacy and rights.. they wont even allow you to get your own examine results nor tell you details... just that you failed. thats it... sorry someone needs to update the stickies listed at the top of the forums CAUSE THEY ARE OUTDATED...

Ok, what is outdated about the stickies at the top. The Niacin one is what every niacin argument is, the one about "The Truth about drug testing" was closed because it was written by a salesperson and not a lab tech (the author claimed to work for a drug testing company, in sales), the dilution and substitution stickies are right on, those methods haven't changed and there are no new countermeasures by the labs to defeat at the moment. I am planning on making a FAQ when I have enough time and don't have to keep deleting posts. I also need to make a sticky about hair testing and maybe even oral fluids testing.

Still, something is wrong here. Basically by federal rules they can only go back about 3 months. Did they mention anything about your hair can be in a resting state? Your hair might be 1 & 1/2 inches long but because it could be in a resting state and not growing, it could contain longer than 3 months of history. This is more common with body hair than head hair because head hair is usually growing and not in the resting state.

For the person who said they go back 4 years, I am with Geo on this one and calling bullshit. That would be 24 inches of hair and as time goes by, you will lose some of those metabolites.

ive already told you as much as they told me, they DID NOT go any further into details. of course before the conversation with the CMO ( chief medical Review officer) started he told me our phone conversation was being recorded and was going to the employer who requested the test.. double whammo.

but as i stated before.. some how some way i DID NOT have to give 3 inches worth of hair.. although the exact amount she got from me im not sure..since(embarresed to admit) she got some long strands from both my armpit... i was assuming they only took hair from 1 side. this lady basically gave me a trim cut with scissors..

again she stated it was the lab that requested the requirments of a full sample be sent so she had to get the most possible....like you i also assumed they would only look back at the past 90 days... nope they went back and found THC from 7 months ago.. thats saying i was exposed/used it like back in Feb. '07.....

truth be told.. she did also hint psychomedics CAN do a historic exam testing a subject for use over a lifetime..but usually they can go back 3 years..( i think 3 yr background is on some terms of federal jobs and such..not sure..hell im baffled cause of something got detected 7 months ago)

federal standards might not be governed by labs in all states yet.. cause they sure as hell went over that so called standard...

On these crappy jobs like this one why not just be honest?
Tell them drug testing expecially for pot is bullshit. Tell them you smoke from time to time and its none of there fucking business. If they want to retain employees they need to grow up show a little intiative and have a quality place to work.
Enough people do this particularly at shitty place where you really don't want to wotk anyway maybe some will change.

but in reality.. im never gonna go to a weak company i go for the large corporations, for prestige & better pay. still its more to that than a simple owner stating hey i want this tested for this duration. i believe its strongly based on politics.. i live in a red state. republican state.. Texas...which is conservative on top of that.. and i consider my self a new age liberal held captive in a red state.. basically the goverment cant find away to place a tax on it.. thats all its about "getting their cut"

if you think about it... what if they did legalize marijauna...tobacco companies would be the 1st large manufactors of the product..
think of malboro janes 100's on sale at the store for $25.00 per pack.
think of Newport blunt kings w/menthol on sale for $35.00 per pack..
in my state a regular pack of smokes at 7-11 cost about $6.48.. with the taxes going to our schools, healthcare welfare, and etc... think of what communities could do with the extra cash is they made it all legal.... but nope.... why?? cause its the #1 commodity that anyone can grow in their own back yard..just abit higher than corn. Funny here in Dallas they found a huge stash of weed crops..right behind the DEA offices!.. and truthfully DEA is getting tired of messing with the stuff cause once they find some, they know there's likely 1000's more somewhere else. Houston was once very close to simply giving tickets for possesion cause of the overcrowding in jails.. hell i think everywhere jail overcrowding is becoming an issue.. what if 4 million smokers all of a sudden decided to get arrested across the nation..do you really think that would have an effect on the conservatives?
