Checking PH for Soil Growing
I did a test run with indoor growing about a year ago, except I used hydroponics, and decided it was too much work with all the timers and changing water and all that. So, recently, I have decided to take up on indoor growing, which is fairly new to me. I was wondering how to check the PH when growing soil, and, also, the best watering schedule (how much, when, etc.) that you all have used for best results.

Checking PH for Soil Growing
i think you set a soil sample and use distilled water.
add a sample of soil to a beaker, add distilled water to beaker, stir and leave to settle... oh shyt that would be to measure the EC...
A pH probe for soil would be your best bet from a garden centre

Checking PH for Soil Growing
ph soil probes suck royally
can try but dont exactly trust
if you use atleast have a backup water test kit and check the runoff of the water
i just went through this situation

Checking PH for Soil Growing
Since you grew in water, then you must have a digital ph meter? Like stated above, do not buy the probes-they are shit! If you want to test the soil then you will have to pay to play. Good soil testers are not cheap. So what we/I do is test run off. Water plants until it comes out the bottom and then water some more. Then take your ph probe and test that water. That's your ph, give or take a tad. Then just add ph up or down to water\nutes and away you go.

Checking PH for Soil Growing
Take a clean water sample. Deionized would be best but tap is okay, just test its pH FIRST.
pour a good amount of this tested water through your pot and collect it in a clean cup.
Test the pH of the runoff.
Compare it to the pH of the water that you put in there.
Think really hard...
