Actually, if you put on more muscle, you will lose weight faster, as muscle burns far more calories even at rest. You should eat less breads and sweets, but keep your meat. Cut down on cheese, but don't eliminate it, eat more rice and oatmeal for your complex carbs, eat fish and chicken primarily for meat, as they have less fat than beef or pork. Steak is excellent if you can make a good one. Work out as much as you can, and if possible, balance your cardio with weight training so you are burning lots of calories, but you are also building muscle, and that muscle burns even more calories even while you sleep. If you stick to it, in about a month or month and a half, you'll have lost quite a bit of weight, and probably even get significantly buffer.
