Weed Instead of Trimmings for Bubble Hash?

All of the directions for making bubble hash found on the net call for the use of the trim after harvest, never weed itself. I would assume this is because using 100 g of weed to make 10 or so grams of hash is not very cost efficient in most parts of the world.

But, I'm traveling to an area in Mexico this summer where kilos can be had for 90 USD, and it's considered the best weed in all of Mexico. Assuming that this weed has atleast the same number of trichomes than trim{and Im assuming much more}, you could easily pull around 15 grams of great bubble hash per 100 grams, meaning you would get somewhere near 150 grams of top quality hash for only 90 U.S. dollars, paying around 65 cents per gram!

The only question I ask is this, is there really any downside or am I missing something that would disqualify regular weed for being used in the bubble bag process?

Well, you are only getting the trichomes so basically your wasting all the plant material(and the cannabinoids in the plant). I could be wrong but that is what it sounds like will happen to me.

nope, it can be done with weed, and the end product will be better. but hey, why not try out some oils too!?

Just came from Mexico I got the same kinda herb. It is very good a columbian mix of strawberry coughf and some afgani. Its breed for the columbian moutains is what I was told but it is good herb. Only thing is for hash their are not that many tricomes cause it is a very outdoor type herb. It spent about all of its life outdoors so the tricomes are not that great for hash making , however you will still get some nice hash just not the amount u are expecting. I was in Mexico city and I quikly found what was sopposed to be the best herb in all of the country this year and thier was so much you could wipe your ass with it. It is very good herb, how ever I did smoke som not much mabey like a quad outta 3 or 4 OZ, that was not properly leached but still very good. And I did get a full strabery cough sack too it was not as potenet as their other cough and afgani mix but it tasted very good. Have funn main It is very nice in Mexico right now.
