    Experimental Grow

Hey boyz & ladies, this is my first time posting here, so please excuse me if this question sounds a bit...well dumb...however, here we go: I'm trying an experiment in the spring with an outdoor grow, and I'd like input if anyone has anything relevent.

Basically, I'd like to plant outdoors at the end of winter, roughly the beginning of April. The plan is to remove the snow, thaw the site, prepare it, plant it via seed intensive, and then cover back up with enough snow to keep it preserved until about may when the threat of frost is gone. I know enough about planting to know that the cold should keep the seeds dormant until the snow has melted and the ground has thawed out. Hell, it's like throwing an ounce into the freezer and then growing the seeds after you've smoked it.

I've been doing a bit of horticultural research and have been interested by the idea that annual plants (like cannabis) spread out larger root systems when they germinate under snow cover, thus meaning they don't need as much watering and have a bigger area from which to draw nutrients. I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with this or might know something I've overlooked. Cheers!
