Better to put alot of bong water in or a little

I Have been using bongs for more then a couple of years now and i cant help but notice that there are some people that like alot of water in there bong and some that like the stem to just barley reach the water, i was just wandering which people like more and why?

just a half inch or so above the stem is sufficent enough.... having more doesn't do anything other then take up more of the chamber....

i always fill my bong up to about 1/2 past the stem

I put my stem down to the bottom and then 2.5" of over it.

As devil's advocate; the smoke may cool more the more water it has to go through. I don't know if that's true. I kinda agree with the king. Whatever floats your boat.

I usually go with atleast 2 inches depending on the bong of course. Cause the more water the smoke has to go through the better its being filtrated and so it makes a good clean hit. It makes sense in my mind but i doubt it really matters that much in the end....
