sumatransbitehard Reviewed by sumatransbitehard on . 3-Leaf Retarded Plant? i planted a Purple tangerine seed about 3 weeks ago and i noticed the first leaves were 3(three) round leafs and 3 regular mj leaves. i originally planted it in soil and later that day my gf put about 4 more inches of soil on top of the surface and planted her own seeds (she didnt know i was growing the pot). She planted Bachelors buttons..not sure if this has anything to do with it. i've never seen this before and i thought maybe somebody would know about this here. here are some pics: Rating: 5

Lol this is amusing, I am enjoying it :eat:. I just wish I could play with it - God knows what I might do to #$%^ with it just to see how it responds . Grab something with iron in it and move it around the plant, see if its magnetic - maybe it has mutant superpowers! :abduct: Maybe it was abducted as a seed - is it from growshop Alien? Lol... Anyway keep up the good work and take care of it! Good luck

Looks like you have a very confused indica on your hands! That's the first time I've seen leaves grow in such fashion...but apparently, it's healthy and so you shouldn't worry too much about anything at this stage.

I'm not familiar with your strain, and so can't give any tailored advice for your plants specific needs. Are you sure it was "purple tangerine", and if so, did you order the seeds from a reputable breeder? Anyway, I'm also curious to see how it turns out...so keep the pictures coming!

it has grown quite a bit since the last pictures..

i'll upload a few more tomorrow sometime. I'm 99% sure the strain is "Purple Tangerine". My homee has a club card from from the state here in CA and he got some ''Purple Tangerine'' from the club and had some seeds in the sack and hooked me up with em. So.. it's some kind of purp, so that would mean Sativa? I'm wondering how tall it will get at harvest??

    Thanks guys, updates :stoned:

Well, here's the update. It looks like there are 3-4 new leaves coming from the top. I can't really make it out yet. Should I wait another month or so before flowering or what?

    Thanks.

I'd wait about a month - possibly longer - if it were me. It really depends on what type of lights you're using for the vegetative stage. If you're using HPS or MH, then you could probably induce flowering in about a month and have a nice robust plant to work with. But, on the other hand, if you're using fluorescents then it may take a little bit longer to rear. Many flouro setups simply can't produce the explosive/vigorous growth that HID's do, but then again...if done right, CFL's and even some quality all-spectrum tubes can prove to be quite the exception to the rule.

I would have guessed from the pictures that this little darling was an indica, possibly a sativa/indica hybrid. But that's just from judging by the shape of the foliage. I could be completely mistaking, and if I am, then I apologize.

Looking forward to seeing more pics!

When you are creating your post, look towards the top of the Message: box and you'll see an image of a paperclip (right next to the smiley face, to the right of 'Fonts'). Click on the paperclip and upload your photos, after they have uploaded close the upload window and click the paperclip logo again and click on 'Insert All' on the dropdown menu.

So post some pics of your plant. Not sure if it's the same mutation or not? Mine was growing with 3 each since the first leaves came out.

Well, for one, the plant has been growing outside since planted. So i'm not using any lights. I'm actually in the process if getting my state cannabis card (i live in northern california) so I can (legally) grow it inside. But for now, it will remain outside. So, should I just let her be, give daily waterings and just see what happens after a month?

I'm pretty sure its a Sativa, man. I found about 8 seeds from a 1oz bag of ''Purple Tangerine'' from the cannabis club in Hayward, CA. I'm I wrong, or isn't all Purple strains Sativa? I've smoked this strain before (Purple Tangerine) at least 50 times and its some good purp, not up there with the grandaddy purple but its still some fire. So, will this plant (at one point or another) adapt the Purple colors? Thanks again all, updates coming on Friday.
