Yes, Nas is very good. Yes, Tupac was great. But do you honestly think they are *the* best? Get a grip, man. Apparently you've never heard anything in the underground. I think you might want to change that, and say "Lil Wayne is the most popular rapper making albums right now." And no, popularity does not necessarily equate to skill. Real rap/hip-hop is underground now, and I'm hoping someday you people will wake up and listen to it, instead of feeding these money hungry losers like Lil Wayne who have no passion in rapping.

Please go to Youtube and search "Best rapper alive" see what comes up. Seeing how not one rapper on this planet responded to lil waynes challenge besides Billy the Kid from Philadelphia. Im gonna say hes the best rapper right now. Seeing how FHM 420 or w/e his name is deems the songs I call skill unworthy gave no example I dont really know what to say.

I have to agree with those that miss the "good days of rap" of Nas, Wu, Mobb Deep (the real Mobb Deep, B4 they got w/50), Jay-Z, Biggie, Tupac, Redman, OGC, Smif-N-Wesson, Outkast, I could go on.......

I do not care for much "southern" rap. Most of it is BS, and almost all of the rest is "stripper" music. There are exceptions, like Outkast, but few and far between.

I still listen to many "old" CD's, and get something when someone I recognize comes out, Nas's "Hip Hop is Dead", Jay-Z's "Kingdom Come", still waiting/anticipating Raekwon's "CL2". There are also a few new artists that have emerged that may have relevant things to say, like Kanye. Unfortunately, it's just not like it was then, and I don't know if it will ever be the same again.

I love reading posts on Lil Wayne all around the internet because you usually get someone who comes in and says "listen to some real rap" than when you ask them why it isn't real, they give you a bullshit answer and hilarity ensues.

duhhh, put up against other sugar coated cereals fruit loops has a chance, put it up against real competition it doesnt and would get laughed off the stage.
