What ta expect..
Well hello , i just recently set up a room thats 5' x 6' nd it seems to be perf for what i want to accomplish , i can fit 20 /2 Gallon pots in there nicely , and i 20/3 galllon pots later nicely to , but i was wondering if one 600w MH convertion bulb would be good for 20 plants in a 5 by 6 area , then ima switch to the 600w HPS bulb , ... u think it will be good enouph for the 20 so odd plants? , or would i be needing a 1000wer of both??
lemme know , thanks

You should be ok with the 600w HPS, just be REALLY CAREFUL of the heat. The 600w HPS is gonna be around 90k lums, a 1000w HPS should be around 140k Lum's and more heat! Before dropping in around 20 plants in that area, i would get just a couple to grow in there so you dont loose your entire crop, just a suggestion tho. A trial run is always good for a new setup and keeping it small you can address any problems that may come up before it effects all of your plants.
Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

i dont know your basement, the best thing you can do is to run everything for a few days and see where your at. Take the temp and humidity with and without the fans on while your light is turned on. This will give you a baseling and you can go from there. It will basically tell you if you need more ventilation or if your ok.

It will heat up plenty, but you will want to run a small space heater in there during 'night' to avoid dewfall and a temp difference of more than 15 degrees.
I flower in the same sized space but run a K plus a 400 HPS in there. You really want a 1000 for that room, especially vegging under a 600 MH. I'd veg under a 400 with the plants all close together and then spread them out to fill the room and flower under a 1000. You want up to 3x the watts in flower that you had been using in veg to be most efficient.
