Well hello , i just recently set up a room thats 5' x 6' nd it seems to be perf for what i want to accomplish , i can fit 20 /2 Gallon pots in there nicely , and i 20/3 galllon pots later nicely to , but i was wondering if one 600w MH convertion bulb would be good for 20 plants in a 5 by 6 area , then ima switch to the 600w HPS bulb , ... u think it will be good enouph for the 20 so odd plants? , or would i be needing a 1000wer of both?? lemme know , thanks Skyler:cool: Rating: 5

a 600w would only cover a 3'x5' area by my calculations(during flowering) and that is lower at 40w per square foot. most want 50w or so. 40 works for me though. you want between 30w and 50w. so i am taking the economical approach and i dont have a co2 boost. in my opinion you could grow 15 plants under a 600 and they would be very crowded. if vegging you could fit alot more plants under the same mh but then you need a big enough hps to put them all under.
