This only applies the very first time you ever give the plant nutrients. After that, there's a constant supply and this is moot.

Plant size and bud density are independent of each other. Bud density depends upon genetics, availablity of carbon, and intensity of light.

Clones should only be rooted under at least 16 hours of light. Rooting under light conditions that would induce flowering in a regular plant will do the same wiht clones, and not only will you have the plant making the wrong hormones, but you will then have to re-veg the clones before flowering, adding about 3 weeks to your cycle, and greatly increasing chances of hermaphrotidism.
