with tha said, you metioned tha its a S/I, now thers gunna be diff. charcters in each one of tha plants. That being the key to your kids.

-growth
-smell
-stem/node ratio
-# of bud sites
-Height/Width
-symitical(good)/sparse>(not so good)
-flowering rate
-are the lower branches keeping up
-how it reacts to tecq. (topp, lst,)
-poantancy

i.e.- male 1: Is thick stockd, more nodes, And(IMO) would go best with female 2/3.
from what i can see.
and -male 2: best with female 1/4

Other than that your god to them.
and it takes some years to stabilize a good strain but like i said dont give up.
