I was thinking about getting a torch lighter but I am unsure if the heat from one will destroy THC. Does anyone know the temperatures at which THC can be destroyed?

Why would you want to burn your weed so fast?

I dont really want to burn weed fast, with a torch lighter you only need a tiny blast to get the bowl cherried. I also want one because you can use them outside when it is windy and they dont blow out.

I don't know if the heat would destroy thc, although it does get quite hot, up to 1300C I've been told. You gotta be careful with them though, a lot easier to get burnt or set something on fire. Me and my friend actually boiled bong water with a torch lighter once.

The only thing they are great for is smoking in windy weather. Other than that, yes, they burn at a much higher temp. than your typical BIC.

The best thing to to do is not to make contact with the actual flame of the torch lighter, to the weed/bowl. Keep your distance and be more cautious burning the bowl.

Naw dude it wont destroy it jus dont incenerate the bowl in 1 hit

it doesnt do anything different than a bic...just burns a little faster but not in 1 hit as budzoor said ive smoked bowls with my zippo before whenever i lose my bic and i still get a good 4-5 good hits on my bowl

Yes get a torch lighter. Why? less of that "butane taste" which is caused by the unreacted butane in the centre of the bottom of the flame, and since the burning mechanism of a "torch" or "jet" lighter mixes oxygen with the butane before ignition, the reaction is complete, leaving no unreacted butnae to add taste. torch lighters are also more prescise.

BUT! they must be operated with more care! too close to teh bowl and youre not only destroying lovely THC, but youll be burning your herb especially fast! i hodl my torch anywhere from 1.5 to 2 inches away from the bowl, your friends will call you an idiot, but you canturn around and do the same when you get a nice, accurate, good tasting cherry that produces cvery thick smoke, out of that bowl of yours.

also they work damn well for lighting a jay in the wind, but it also takes some practice not to pwn the end of your jay.
