I guess I have to call in the reinforcements on this one. If you've been to the grow log that GDS and I are doing in the grow log section (link in signature), then you've seen the pics of the "stadium" type setup in my room. It works great when the plants are small. Well the first run of plants in it are no longer small. I'm quickly running out of room. I hand water, for now at least, so I have to have room to get around in there. I'd like to stay with a rotation of 10 plants per cycle, with a completed cycle(harvest) every two weeks.

I've already taken out the two bottom shelves and have all plants on the floor. I really don't want to run a SOG cuz I kinda like to side-light my plants to maximize them. But.........it doesn't look like I have any other options other than a SOG, from my perspective that is. That's why I'm making this post. Is there some ingenious way to run a narrow, rectangular room, perpetually, without resorting to SOG? Staying with a perpetual grow is of paramount importance. That's why I built a room instead of staying solely with the smaller spaces I was using.

Room size is four feet wide, eight feet long, with a seven foot ceiling. I'd love to have a bigger room, but that can't happen. It's as big as I can make it, and still have a bedroom.

Another note for your consideration: In about 5 weeks, when the oldest plants are done, I'm gonna have my pick of whatever light choices are on the market. I'm thinking about two 1000 watters. Anyhow, I only mentioned that because if you look at the log pics, you'll see I'm running the old warehouse-type lights with the ballasts attached. They don't allow much flexibility when it comes to mounting or moving them up and down. So don't base any ideas you may have around the lights you see in there now, they will be getting replaced with a more standard type reflector and remote ballasts.

To summarize...I'm looking for:
  1. A perpetual garden
  2. 10 plants per cycle
  3. Preferrably allowing for side-lighting.
  4. Please post your ideas, even if they don't allow for some type of side-lighting.
Anxious to hear what y'all have to say.
Thanks!
