Work Sucks

So yesterday, I had to work from 2pm to bout 1:45am with only a 10 minute break, which wasnt really a break, I just left. Im hoping maybe i can sue, cause im pretty sure thats against some kind of labor law, mm I can smell the half million already.. ha! Nah, they would most likely just a slap on the wrist.

So whats the worst day youve had at work, im sure ive had worse, but last night was up there.

Either summer 05, or 04, cant remember. England has a heatwave for weeks, the whole summer was BOILING! And the summer is the busiest time for the boatyard - and working 13 hour days in that heat is stupid. And driving that far in that heat is stupid.

That, this year when i cut my thumb off -bar a bit of skin.

Well that definately sounds against the law.

Here in the UK I think your allowed at least a half hour break for every 6 hours that you do.

The worst days work I've had was probably from 6 in the morning until 5.30 in the evening with only a half hour break I was shattered after that.

Yeah, its against the law, but not really uncommon. Try working at a restaurant, breaks are laughed at.

Working for Frito Lay..Everyday was a start time of about 2 am..and some of those summer days and holidays working until 3 or 4 in the afternoon..I would have to rush home..eat..go to sleep and do it again in about 8 hours..pure torture.

i think the law in america is something like a 15 minute break every 2 hours. law could vary state to state and work.

the only think that would prob help is being with a union, but bein in the south and self employed i dont know much about it. were supposed to have labor laws but it realy does no good, courts dont care much about it as its a waste of time to them

Worst day for me ever was about 3 weeks ago at work. On a Saturday, all 3 people call in sick, and I am left to unload a 53ft trailer of fridges, couches, dishwashers,washers/dryers, chests, dressers, etc..., do customer pickups, load up our 2 sub contracters, and take shit off the floor for As Is sales. I worked 10 hours with barely anytime to take a piss. Orders kept coming in non-stop, and I didn't get a break all day.

It was horrible, but I got through it...barely.
