Carbon Filters On This Fan?
Hello,
My name is Mr. Purple!
I'm glad to be a part of the forum.
My question is
I plan on growing in a
7ft (height) x 5ft (length) x 2ft (width)
closet with 600 watts at 6 plants
maximum.
I don't believe i'll need ducting due to that
my intake an exhaust will be right in the closet.
My exhaust will be vented in the bedroom
where the closet is.
Which is why i have to do something about odor.
So i'm asking
will i be able to hook a carbon
filter to this fan?

Opie Yutts speaks the truth !!!!
Ventilation is not something to skimp on . The cooler the cab. is = the happier / healthier the girls will be w/ far less chance of hermies due to heat stress . You cant run a scrubber and cool a lamp w/ a cheap ass fan anyways - any kinda restriction on them greatly impairs their ability to move a decent amount of air .
Peace

Carbon Filters On This Fan?
Then what do you suggest?
I am not going over 100$ for a fan!
As i'm already paying 400$
for 600 watt lights
with a easycool reflector.
I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Due to the fact that my closet is 70 cubic feet and with
a 300 cfm for intake and a 340 cfm for exhaust.

I blieve that a 600W will give off 5000BTU's.
Thats a lot to cool.
Your temps in the closet will run around 90+F with minimal ventilation.
You will HAVE to spend more than $100 on ventilation.
I worked with 2 400W and spent $400 on ventilation and fans plus $100 for a carbon sock. My temps are still 82F at best. (4h x 4d x 8w)
Like they said, DO NOT skip on ventilation.

I'm not, but i still don't see why i need spend so much on
fans.
I'm sure i can just make my own carbon filter to fit the fan.

the cheap fans just dont push pull air that good, they have to be unrestricted to work decent. no tube, if tube no bends
you can get away with spending about 150 on a good 350cfm inline fan(panasonic, vortec, ect), or a squirlcage fan(if you can handle more noise) and use a cooltube/aircooled hood.
best for you and your babies

Some things are just not possible, and what you are asking for is one of them.

Carbon Filters On This Fan?
Alright i hear ya.
Its just a pain in the ass to save money for it.
But i've crossed that barrier i will be ordering
a
Growbright HID System
600w ballast
600w HPS Bulb
Easycool 6" Reflector
From htgsupply.com
----------------------------------------------
As for fans i'm getting 2 fantech fr inline
centrifugal fans 243 cfm,
due to that my closet is only 70 cubic feet
so this is more than enough.
Fantech FR150 6 Inch 243 CFM Inline Centrifugal Fan - Plantlighting Hydroponics
So that is about $290
and the lights are $300.
Now i need to see if i should get new doors for my
closet or buy weather stripping?, to be air tight.
I'll be buying an odor sok as a carbon filter
from that i've heard much better benefits
than a normal filter.
But the type of wood will make out how much the
doors will cost.
Any one know of what types of wood
is durable for interior doors?

You can buy doors at a construction salvage yard, or any home improvement place. If you make them, plywood is much more water resistant and lighter than MDF, but MDF is cheaper. Then again normal MDF is not green. It has harsh chemicals, but for about twice the price yoiu can get green MDF.
