What's the verdict on the green light during the dark period. I need to do some ph adjusting during the dark period but I don't want to interrupt the dark.

with a green light you should be fine. I would suggest that you dont leave it on for too long though.

One late night of tinkering when the lights are supposed to be off will not harm anything. It takes more than that for plants' cycles to get screwed up. I have done it many times and have never had a hermie or other related problem.
