    First grow... a disaster?

Can anyone on here honestly say their first grow was, at the least, unimpressive? SWIM started out with 10 seeds, white widow mind you. 6 of them germinated. 4 of those became female plants. Due to some extensive constraints (stealth) 3 of those were executed, kitchen sink style. Now theres one left. And the yield is probably going to be an ounce dry. All this time and effort just to get one ounce? I feel almost kinda, bad.

    First grow... a disaster?

You're right it sounds like a disaster. i started with clones from a club and they are looking somewhat decent, 8 plants under a 1000 watt hps. My goal was 1 lb but its looking more like 1/2 a lb now due to some deficiences so i guess im suffering too. not sure if it qualifies as a disaster.

Don't take it to heart. Some have amazing first grows, most don't. Your first time at bat is a learning experience, and in reality, you never stop learning and improving. The important thing is to not give up. Figure out what went wrong and the best way to correct it and move ever forward. That's all any grower can do, and in the end, it IS worth all the effort.

    First grow... a disaster?

My first grow- mexibrick bagseed- started under a single shop light and finished under a 70w HPS security light in a badly-lightproofed mylar tent in an attic crawlspace with no ventilation.
It grew lanky, potbound, and pale. But it finished and my then-boyfriend declared it excellent and encouraged me to keep at it.
That was just under three years ago...

Its always good to hear that even the pro's had problems when they started growing. Thanks for Stinky and Weedhound for the words of encouragement to the rookies of the community I've got a grow under my belt now, and I didn't kill the last one, so we should be doing alright now!

Right on GL. Onward and upward.

Knock wood, I haven't had a "bad" grow yet, and I've committed every offense under the sun on my poor plants. I've neglected them, nute burned them, starved them, over watered, under watered, alternately baked and froze them, broken them, left lights on during dark period, grew them in the damp moldy basement, grew them in the hot ass attic, forgot to turn the lights on, blown cigarette smoke on them...you name it, I've done it. :weedpoke:

Green33, if you peep my first growlog, you'll see me whining like a little bitch about my plants. I had the most ghetto grow you can imagine. I almost gave up a couple of times. But when that first harvest came in, and I witnessed the sheer delight on my husband's face when he smoked it, I was hooked on growing. Never say die!

youll always experience a loss nopw and then. (my last 4oz salvia extraction exploded cuz i tried to warm the acetone so itd evaporate over a barbeque (bad idea))

my current grow had 10 seeds. 3 didnt germ, one died at 3 inches, and 2 were males. (still 4 females is decent) im gonna flower em for seeds. ive been told theyre rhino, but i dont trust him

    First grow... a disaster?

Im in the middle of my first grow, and ive had tons of problems. Hell if you dont believe me go check the plant problems board and you'll find posts by me all over it. Like the others have said its a learning experience, i think alot of us enter into this thinking "hey its a weed, that shit grows anywhere, this cant be that hard" then reality slaps us in the face and we see how difficult it really can be. Anyways keep at it, i know i will, as we have no where to go but up ^^.
