Do you think porn stars are whores?
I hate the term "whore" because it's so disparaging. But I do agree that those folks, men and women alike, are selling their bodies for sex, whether it's on film or not. From a transaction standpoint, that's no different than prostitution. And Cannabis, if you've read biographies or personal accounts from the porn stars, both current and former (like Jenna Jameson, for instance), you'll see that much more often than not, they really don't like that work at all. Many of them stay drugged out of their minds to be able to engage in random sex like that with multiple strangers and partners. They report that it's soul-killing work that exploits them and victimizes them, despite the fact that they often pretend like it's a great, wonderful work gig they're at the zenith of their stardom. I'm sure they have to put on that face to their producers and public to be able to keep the defense mechanisms in place that allow them to sell themselves like that.
Seriously, think about it. Sex because someone likes sex and likes the people with whom he/she is having sex with is one thing for those who want to have lots of partners and sexual activity. But selling your body and soul on film having sex with perfect strangers where there's no affection or acquaintance and where millions of perfect strangers are going to see it? That's quite another. It definitely qualifies as exploitation for money. In surveys and studies, porn stars have a much higher than average frequency of having been rape or abuse victims in their pasts. The ones who've written or spoken at greatest length about the way abusive pasts factored in admit later that the porno work was yet another form of victimization.
There are several good documentaries out about this subject--the real truth about the human price of porn on its stars. One of them Dave and I watched last year was called "Sex: The Annabel Chong Story." It was heartbreaking.birdgirl73 Reviewed by birdgirl73 on . Do you think porn stars are whores? It sounds like an easy question. You think of all the sexual parnters they have had, and what kinds of things they do for a living. I mean, it's somewhat of a controversial question, technically, there are "whores," but I never really thought about it in that sense, and I couldn't say they were whores.
