I need sum help!

Im not sure if anyone here will be able to help me or not, but i figured it wouldnt hurt to ask. Im tryin to get info on the country my family came here from. Its non exsistant now, it was takin over by poland and russia in the mid 1900's but i still want to know about it and what my family did while there, if u know what i mean. I have no idea about anything when it comes to my families past or where we came from, but i would like to, and there is no one left alive that can answer any of my questions. So i have no choice but to research it myself. The country was called prussia. Thats about all i know. I would like to read up on it and find out what happened to it and why it was taken over and stuff like that. I pretty much just want to know if anyone can tell me if there are any web sites i could start lookin at or sumthing like that. I have never done any kind of research on the computer so i have no idea where to even begin. So if u know any websites i could look at and maybe get an idea about who i am.
