What can cause this ?

Hi, using a dripping system with starters little rockwool cubes and netpots, gh flora series, hps, the roots are not very clean, and the problem is not affecting all the plants at the same level. Can it be beggining of root rot, or larvaes or eggs in the roots, that i found a few ?... Oh yeah, on the most affected plants, growth has stopped and some leaves are completly dry. It seems that the plant is drying...

are you saying you see larve n roots?

you seen bugs? black gnats?

if it's larve, say gnat, thrip, or mite, a simple peroxide flush will kill and add mtch needed O to the roots. 99 cent bottle of3% will do. in co~co i added 2tbs(24 1/2ml) per gal. it should be fine for rw, but check it out 1st. I'm just guessing.

Heat stress. What are your temps?
Potassium def. What's your pH?
Root rot. Like 420FM said, hit it with peroxide 3%.

The temp is 30 ° celsius and the PH has been 6.5 and maybe 7. The PH could lock up potassium ? What would be the amount of H2O2 ( in ml ) for one gallon ? Sorry 420, i did not anderstand your comments.

RW you need to know run-off pH, or ideally in vivo pH ( extract sample from RW w/ syringe). May be well over 7. Ya want 5.5-6

In fact, the cause is root rot. Maybe coming from the rockwool cube which gets mold very easily. The most affected died already. When the roots are not white, more brown and stink a little bit like rotten, is it a good way to extract them from the dripping system and put them into a bubbler with H2O2 in the water ? Rockwool is not so good indeed ...

I think i've got spiders living in the pipes of the dripping system. Do they lay in the roots, and is this a danger for the roots? I find some weird things in the roots, like eggs or larvaes. What can it be ? Is it harmfull ?

Fungus gnats. Not harmful in themselves, but can carry disease to unaffected plants, and thrive when you have root problems.
